The 2014 midterm elections are just one year away. Come learn how the Tennessee Democratic County Chairs Association is working to develop an ambitious cadre of new voices to carry the Democratic message across Tennessee.

    The TDCCA plan:

    • Develop County Party leadership in every part of the state, from rural to urban.
    • Build effective local networks of Hometown Democrats in every county.
    • Promote the issues that matter to Tennesseans: Affordable Quality Healthcare, strong Public Education, building a broader and growing Middle Class.
    • Help our county parties to engage and energize their communities with powerful new technology, effective websites, social media and organizing tools.
    • Train volunteers to work together to mobilize voters and Get Out the Vote for Democrats.
    • Recruit and elect Democrats with a renewed focus on local representation - with a perspective that looks well beyond the next election cycle.

I hope you will join us for drinks, light hors d'oeuvres and conversation. Feel free to bring a friend!  I look forward to seeing you at Elisa's on the 19th.
    Thank you.

    Forward,

  • Doing What's Right for Tennessee

When the Affordable Healthcare Marketplace for uninsured Tennesseans opens on October 1st, hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans will gain access to the life-saving health insurance that they need. But they must step forward and sign up. The Tennessee Democratic County Chairs Association is ready with materials, resources, and training that will support our County Parties in an effort to promote the Healthcare Marketplace.

As you are probably aware, recent obstacles have been enacted by the State of TN which will make it even harder for Tennesseans to learn the truth about the Affordable Healthcare available to them. While the Emergency rules issued on September 18th by the TN Dept. of Commerce and Insurance are still being digested and interpreted, it has become even more vital for Democratic volunteers to share public information about the Affordable Healthcare Marketplace in an organized and effective way. (Please visit www.healthcare.gov if you or someone you know needs affordable healthcare!)

The Affordable Care Act is the defining Democratic legislation of our day and we must stand up for it and show our Democratic values with action!

  • Democratic Lifesavers

When 7 out of 9 of our TN Congress-people have voted a combined 287 times to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act, you know that the truth is being hidden from Tennesseans by cheap partisan politics. But the truth is this: Tennesseans with insurance in every county are already benefitting from the insurance reforms in the Affordable Healthcare Act. And when the Healthcare Marketplace for working but uninsured Tennesseans opens in October, hundreds of thousands could have the life-saving health insurance that they need. But only if they step forward and sign up.

So what’s to stop them? Like any new opportunity, it takes effort to get the word out.
